Was it all a LIE?

I call my mum as usual before I sleep on 21st June 2022 and gives me the news that they received their annual bonus earlier than expected. But why Munya? Over the year CS Munya has promised tea farmers of better pay but alas they receive their bonus In June when it is supposed to be released in October as the norm. Is the national elections leading to all of this changes. But why the reduction in the bonus payment.   The dollar seems to rise and as tea is exported, they expected a rise in their payments because the pay is supposedly higher. I really hope the presidential candidates this year are keen on seen this drastic drop in tea farmers bonuses. The current president uhuru Kenyatta should also comment on why the change of the prices, why the bonus came earlier than expected and why the promise from the promise from the government on getting a higher bonus rate was not fulfilled. This is such a bad feeling for all the tea farmers especially now that it is coming ...

Keep Doing It

  This is one of my published commentaries that I did not know was published. I happened to see it and a couple of others after typing my name on Google. I started sending in commentaries to editors of newspapers in 2009 when I joined campus for my certificate course. Then I used to keep track on if the commentaries were published and those that were I cut out from newspapers or photocopied the page. With technology advancement, I now can look through newspapers on the online space. I think because I have been so busy writing articles that U get paid for, I miss out on checking the papers. I am set to graduate for my masters degree in communication in November, 2021. The transition from Certificate, Diploma, Undergraduate and now masters level has sharpened. According to Fox News,The Pope visits War -Torn Africa.Yes we know a few countries in Africa have had war or violence in the past but it doesn't mean we still face it. For instance in Kenya it  started from world war 1 & 2 then came the post election violence,it was tough but we overcame it.There is this thing I don't know why but Africa seems bushy and like we do not live well.I remember my sister mentioning when she had gone to visit the U.K with her hubby that people there thought they live on trees, can u just that?funny huh,I know. Kenya should borrow a Leaf from Westernized countries

  Just look at the additional jobs last month in the U.S, while we still wailing over the unemployment menace in Kenya...are our leaders ever curious about how to get here? Will we ever get here? Guess that remains a rhetorical question as to where we stand. Last night was AFCON final game Then Kenya ’s former Gor Mahia’s coach, Ghost Mulee can’t be maintained, It has become a trend now that our football teams keep changing local coaches with coaches coming from Westernized countries. Who even decides on this? Now that Kenya is an election year and the next leaders will take their seats come August 2022, it is a challenge for the upcoming leaders to work on seeing another sport bring Kenya to the Limelight in Africa let alone in the world, or should we just stick to Athletics? Senegal's WIN on 6th February 2022 was just epic. Young people want to be empowered, they need to see things brought to action and not empty promises every election year.
