Was it all a LIE?
The past awesome three days was a great time for me.The International Communication Association (I.C.A) took place in Nairobi,Kenya at Daystar University.A-lot of media and communication scholars and students attended from all over the world.
There were varied topics discussed on from 19th - 21st October when the conference closed.Among them were Journalism and media, development communication, political communication, research and media ethics, environment climate change ,crisis/Risk communication, social new media, social digital media, health communication, terrorism ,media in Africa cross-disciplinary perspectives, public relations and advertising among other topics.
There were also other sessions 'special ones' that were mostly suitable for students and early career scholars. They included 'How does one get published? What do referred journal editors look for? and practical advice for postgraduate students and early -career academics.' They happened during the first and second day after close of business from 5.00-6.30 pm.
There was a-lot of networking too among the delegates and people who attended the conference. It was a historic period too as since ICA's intiation 67 years ago,ICA took place in Africa at Nairobi,Kenya.
The conference ended at the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) headquarters at Langata where the delegates and participants had Bush lunch at the KWS Club House and there after went for a safari (nature) walk.
The conference was a success thanks to the international organizing committee and the local organizing committee as well.Above all God made it possible.
The next stop for ICA will be at Sandiego in the United States of America (USA) in 2017.
