Was it all a LIE?

I call my mum as usual before I sleep on 21st June 2022 and gives me the news that they received their annual bonus earlier than expected. But why Munya? Over the year CS Munya has promised tea farmers of better pay but alas they receive their bonus In June when it is supposed to be released in October as the norm. Is the national elections leading to all of this changes. But why the reduction in the bonus payment.   The dollar seems to rise and as tea is exported, they expected a rise in their payments because the pay is supposedly higher. I really hope the presidential candidates this year are keen on seen this drastic drop in tea farmers bonuses. The current president uhuru Kenyatta should also comment on why the change of the prices, why the bonus came earlier than expected and why the promise from the promise from the government on getting a higher bonus rate was not fulfilled. This is such a bad feeling for all the tea farmers especially now that it is coming ...

Be prompt before someone gets their hopes up

I happened to process for my mum her national insurance health fund (NHIF) benefits for some procedures she underwent during this week. She was admitted in the high dependency unit (H.D.U) for three days and later for one day in the ward.In her stay in hospital she underwent several tests which were expensive given that were performed within Nairobi hospital's labs -among the tests were a Coronary arteriogram, echocardiogram, ultrasound-bilateral doppler and CT pulmonary angiogram.

Thing is the NHIF office at Nairobi office told me to start off the process of her being paid for some amount before even checking through the status of her card.I had to go her doctor's clinic and get a report of her medical situation, filled a report and walk to the NHIF offices to and from twice. It was such a tasking process but i was ready to undertake if at all mum's bill would be lessened by NHIF paying some of it.

Then to my surprise on my second visit to NHIF headquarters on 6th floor , i am told that mum has exhausted her limits of what she can be paid for.It was such a disappointing statement keeping in mind that she had been discharged in the morning and all we were waiting for was to see what NHIF would pay for us.Apparently i got to know NHIF financial year ends in July hence my mum cannot benefit from NHIF until July 2018. I was like 'What ? July? next year? I just couldn't believe my ears.Like wouldn't they tell me from the start that i wouldn't get anything instead of make me do all that and get nothing.

There were a lot of Kenyans waiting on 6th floor and a lot of them were disappointed from NHIF services. They say now everything is processed online. But the internet should be fast i processing things shouldn't it? the first time i got to the 6th floor NHIF headquarter offices was 11am and i was told to wait for 2pm and my request will be approved.Well they totally put my hopes hi but i had to go back to the headquarters to see if i could push for the approval and sadly the approval was that the request couldn't go through since my mum had exhausted to the limits of them offering more.

NHIF kindly be sure you will help kenyans from the start, don't make the patients relatives or loved ones go looking for reports and filling in forms.Kenyans do their best to pay their NHIF dues so why not serve them diligently and kindly don't lie on when to expect approvals ,just say it as it is.
