Was it all a LIE?

I call my mum as usual before I sleep on 21st June 2022 and gives me the news that they received their annual bonus earlier than expected. But why Munya? Over the year CS Munya has promised tea farmers of better pay but alas they receive their bonus In June when it is supposed to be released in October as the norm. Is the national elections leading to all of this changes. But why the reduction in the bonus payment.   The dollar seems to rise and as tea is exported, they expected a rise in their payments because the pay is supposedly higher. I really hope the presidential candidates this year are keen on seen this drastic drop in tea farmers bonuses. The current president uhuru Kenyatta should also comment on why the change of the prices, why the bonus came earlier than expected and why the promise from the promise from the government on getting a higher bonus rate was not fulfilled. This is such a bad feeling for all the tea farmers especially now that it is coming ...

BBI Report and all the expectations it comes with among Kenyans

The Building Bridges Initiative (B.B.I) report has hit the headlines for a couple of months now since President Uhuru Kenyatta and the RT. Hon. Raila Odinga shook hands ' The handshake'. It seems like a great report that has been thought over by great minds. But is it all about how the country is governed, who gets what seat and what seats are to be scrapped. The chairman and most people who are talking over the report are accomplished people. People who have worked over the years. They have great work experience, they are people to be looked up to, people the country, the world and those who do not have such kind of experience aspire to be like. But is it all about governance, what happens to the unemployed who are the majority of Kenyans now. The learned people who will just carry their certificates with them , knocking on doors, spend their time in cyber cafe's applying for those advertised jobs or that unemployed person who does the informal job. Its time this reports seriously thinks of doing away with the greater percentage of the unemployed. The old have now being given something that they can fed on despite not working even though health expenses are still there for them to figure them out.

I am looking forward to the day a parliamentarian will come up with a bill of having money set aside for the unemployed to help themselves with. It is not a new thing to the world. Countries such as Norway, Finland, Sweden, Israel, Japan and Germany are offered unemployment pays, why not Kenya. As much as we are a developing country, Kenya should learn from this countries especially because the unemployment rate in the country is high. The leaders, everyone knows a lot of people are educated but with no jobs, why should such a problem not be dealt with. Yes, the removal of the  cancer of corruption and tribalism has to be on the fore front but unemployment is a huge menace that if well thought of and strategies are put in place, the level of the unemployed would reduce. Its time the youth should raise up and campaign for this, ' Punda Imechoka na si Utani' Something needs to be done ASAP. I hope this gets to you the President Uhuru Kenyatta, Rt. Hon Raila Odinga and His Excellency the Deputy President William Ruto as well.
