Was it all a LIE?
With the resignation of Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi, it brings up the question of what drives one to want to resign. With all the money packages a job comes with. Assured money at the end of the month, allowances, a special treat that comes through a voucher maybe at the end of the year, you can’t just leave a job. Something must have made you hand in that resignation letter. It could be positive or negative. Positive in terms of a better job having come your way, which we commonly term as greener pastures. On the negative side, your work environment might not be pleasing and hence you just want to move away from it. It might be too toxic for you, a lot of disagreements, no harmony and such aspects. It is important to follow your heart though.
For others, the work might be too loaded, you hardly get time for yourself, your school work or family life. After all, life should be balanced. It is important to do that which makes you happy. You should smile and be content at your workplace, school or family life, that is not a compromise.
