Was it all a LIE?
Praying for Peace in 2022
Just yesterday that I watched two features focusing on the starvation of human beings
and animals in parts of the country. One had the hashtag of (portraits of hunger)
while the other (in the grip of hunger). Sad state of affairs in Marsabit
County seeing people and animals die of hunger.
For the Kenyan politicians visiting all parts of the country, let alone
politicking, looking for votes all over the Country, a question from
a lot of Kenyans who come out of their houses, close their businesses to be
your audience, would be, are you watching what is happening especially you that
has the powers to make a change? Is it just about you or do Kenyans ought to
give you votes out of promises that are not known if they will ever be accomplished?
I may not be in a position to talk on behalf of a Kenyan living in
Marsabit or the counties that experience drought but that is a state that one
can easily run away from. Lack of food can only be dismissed by the providence of food and
not being taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
It is high time that Kenyan politicians are in the forefront of tackling the
issues Kenyans are facing at hand and not waiting to do them only after they
are elected. Isn't there more to getting votes? Isn't there more to the Hustler
Nation and the Azimio movement? We all want good leaders, but it gets too
hard knowing who to choose if as Kenyans we keep wailing and our cries are not
heard.

We are doing our best as Kenyans to make a living, but then again, the
leader that gets voted in and his team will get paid by my taxes. As much as these
leaders claim to be honest with what they promise us, why are some issues that remain unsolved? The
unemployment menace had never been erased, the Kenyan economy keeps rising, yet
our incomes hardly increase.
It might be hard to raise from a third-world country to one that is
super rich overnight, nevertheless, something can be done to keep
our country thriving. May God help us as Kenyans to choose leaders that will help you and me
for the betterment of our country. May God intervene on our behalf to choose
leaders, not in favour of our tribes or because we
received handouts from a certain political side.
As much as Politics is a Dirty Game, I pray for peace and calmness in
our country Kenya. Yes, We Can.
