Was it all a LIE?

Image
I call my mum as usual before I sleep on 21st June 2022 and gives me the news that they received their annual bonus earlier than expected. But why Munya? Over the year CS Munya has promised tea farmers of better pay but alas they receive their bonus In June when it is supposed to be released in October as the norm. Is the national elections leading to all of this changes. But why the reduction in the bonus payment.   The dollar seems to rise and as tea is exported, they expected a rise in their payments because the pay is supposedly higher. I really hope the presidential candidates this year are keen on seen this drastic drop in tea farmers bonuses. The current president uhuru Kenyatta should also comment on why the change of the prices, why the bonus came earlier than expected and why the promise from the promise from the government on getting a higher bonus rate was not fulfilled. This is such a bad feeling for all the tea farmers especially now that it is coming ...

BBI Report and all the expectations it comes with among Kenyans

Image
The Building Bridges Initiative (B.B.I) report has hit the headlines for a couple of months now since President Uhuru Kenyatta and the RT. Hon. Raila Odinga shook hands ' The handshake'. It seems like a great report that has been thought over by great minds. But is it all about how the country is governed, who gets what seat and what seats are to be scrapped. The chairman and most people who are talking over the report are accomplished people. People who have worked over the years. They have great work experience, they are people to be looked up to, people the country, the world and those who do not have such kind of experience aspire to be like. But is it all about governance, what happens to the unemployed who are the majority of Kenyans now. The learned people who will just carry their certificates with them , knocking on doors, spend their time in cyber cafe's applying for those advertised jobs or that unemployed person who does the informal job. Its time this reports s...

Climate Changes In Kenya

Image
Kenya is yet at another phase of the floods menace. Its always something that has to come up every year, its either drought that brings about hunger and lack of food to many people around the world. If its floods it brings about misplacement of people in the places they live, they are then forced to vacate places they have been living which maybe are lands they own and have to find rescue which is a move that demands of them using money on housing that perhaps they had not budgeted for. The country through its spokesperson Cyrus Oguna today announced that they distribute food to those that have being affected by the floods. Thousands of people and families have been misplaced, died and brought about devastation by the floods that have being brought about by the heavy rains that have being hitting many parts of the country. In my opinion, the government and not excluding you and me needs to do something about the problems that come about with the climate changes that affect the Co...

No Human is Limited

Today was that day that Kenyans were eagerly waiting for. One man made even the sleepy heads wake up so early just to catch a glimpse of him breaking the record. Happening in Vienna, the INEOS159 challenge was eagerly awaited for by the world for this one man from Nandi county, Kenya to break the record of running a marathon under 2 hours. Social media was  all buzz with a lot of excitement and eagerness of if Eliud Kipchoge would break the record in 1 hour 59 minutes. Even companies such as Safaricom and Bolt brought smiles to Kenyan faces by giving amazing offers under the 159 digits. Safaricom gave each and every Kenya that was willing  got free YouTube bundles of 1590MB to catch Kipchoge run the Ineos159 race live on you tube while Bolt offered people a chance to get a free ride with their taxis just by using the code ELIUD159. Such a unity was brought to Kenyan just by this one man Eliud Kipchoge. Kipchoge, a young man and a last born in Nandi County to a single pa...

Should Politics Ever be Practiced in Church

Image
The chaos that went on in Muranga of the misunderstandings of who should lead a fundraising between Hon. Kamanda and Hon. Nyoro was a shame to the whole political fraternity. A church is a whole different institution from the political scene. So Hon. Nyoro apparently went missing after the police went in search of him. According to me, that was more of freight of what would happen to him if he gave in. What if he just gave in and listened to why they were in search of him and why they wanted him caught. It was simple as that. After all, he was  finally caught and released without any charges. So he had actually nothing to worry about. This should be a lesson to everyone of us. You do not just start running away or hiding when you do not know the reason for running away or hiding. Begin by finding out what the matter really is.

The MaraHeist Saga

Image
The feature on Citizen TV - #Maraheist is just a shocker to many who do not know what happens in the behind scenes of public offices. It is sad that a whole Professor would be linked to looting of money. One would think that education brings some great knowledge that would make you resist such crimes like getting into looting of money sagas and the corruption menace. Its sad that the love of money is in many people now. Why would one make an accountant of the place you work for bring you money in your house simply because you have a high rank in the institution. How many more Universities are in such traps of misappropriation of funds. Are this some of the reasons why University students and lecturers strike? This public money should not be handled aimlessly and honestly speaking how does a driver give orders to a senior staff, it beats logic. This is a such sad state of affairs. So many of corruption have been brought up by the director of public prosecutions, Mr. N...

Why Torture me in the name of Love

Image
A lot of stories have been trending on how people are killing each other out of a love going soar. Why can't people solve a problem in a good manner, sit down and talk over it , if people are not compatible with each other they just part, it is as simple as that. The most common of them all which i can attest many women have gone through is the online relationships where people come across each other especially through the social media. So when people meet up and like each other it ends up being a short lived one whereby either of them gets angry with the other , some harm each other , block one another on all the sites they communicated via and all of this brings a lot of hate and resourcefulness among the parties involved. There are many other kinds of rejections, one could be rejected of a job vacancy, those regret letters job seekers receive, family rejecting one of them and many others that you or your friend have come across. How do we handle rejection ? Is it a hard ta...

Why Professional Courses are key

We are in those days where undergraduate , masters degrees are awarded to a majority of Kenyans year in, year out. Every single person who graduates every year expects to get employed in their area of study. Unfortunately, the unemployment menace has hit the youth and now it is all about entrepreneurship. The leadership of the country has encouraged the youth to not only wait for a white collar job after graduating from campus but also to use up the skills they have acquired from campus in coming up with ideas that can bring out a source of income. There are a number of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) programs that are operational in Kenya and those that did not get a good grade get to join such institutions and get skills from it. There are also programs like the Ajira program that has helped people learn to earn from the internet. There are institutions as well that offer professional courses to people who did not earn grades that would earn them a diploma or ...

MPs' vote in the tax law debate

The members of parliament might not be lay people like you and me who struggles to get that extra shilling in order to survive. As they say its survival for the fittest,at this point has become unbearable with little in and more to dish out. The MPs' need to put the 'kawaida' person in mind while making the crucial vote today in parliament.Wanjiku is hurting and money in is hardly increasing while expenses become more expensive.

I am feeling so shattered you do not want know how my heart is feeling. I prayer for composure as I go to church that I may switch my mind from Chris to God for a minute.
