Was it all a LIE?

I call my mum as usual before I sleep on 21st June 2022 and gives me the news that they received their annual bonus earlier than expected. But why Munya? Over the year CS Munya has promised tea farmers of better pay but alas they receive their bonus In June when it is supposed to be released in October as the norm. Is the national elections leading to all of this changes. But why the reduction in the bonus payment.   The dollar seems to rise and as tea is exported, they expected a rise in their payments because the pay is supposedly higher. I really hope the presidential candidates this year are keen on seen this drastic drop in tea farmers bonuses. The current president uhuru Kenyatta should also comment on why the change of the prices, why the bonus came earlier than expected and why the promise from the promise from the government on getting a higher bonus rate was not fulfilled. This is such a bad feeling for all the tea farmers especially now that it is coming ...

Poor Millionaires

Image
Athletes have always been Kenya's pride since time immemorial to this day and age. It’s a shame getting to see one of the athletes looking and living poor after winning races and being paid handsomely for it. Such should never happen and should not even be expected. Why would  a lawyer who has not stood with him in his rising to be a star just show up when he has accomplished so much and rob him of his wealth. People wake up and sweat to get their daily bread while others just ride on other people's glory. This athlete must have been waking up as early as 5am to practice for his races, exercise and be fit getting ready for his races. Daniel Komen must be a sad man now thinking of how he worked hard to get to where he was , a successful athlete that put Kenya's name at the tops. Getting to be called a silver medalist is not a joke, it is an achievement worked for. I hope the case been taken up by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) will wo...

Politics is a dirty game!

Image
Politics is for sure a dirty game. Year in year out this iron lady from Gichugu constituency has always had something to stir up people's thoughts .She has been at her high and low moments but she is never brought down. She always walks with her chin raised her .I have always admired her as a woman and also from the fact that we hail from the same county .Martha Karua has served as  a lawyer, member of parliament of Gichugu and also as minister of Justice. One thing with her is that she remains confident in how she runs her affairs. In 2007 she vied for presidency in Kenya and lost .Well she might have known she didn't stand a chance to win but she did vie anyway .I liked her vigor especially in the presidential debates of 2007.Well i don't know why she didn't even get to no.2 as a presidential candidate especially being a woman .It seems women don't vote in their fellow women when they vie for political seats .If many women did vote her in i think...

What a Shocker!

Image
No one ever foresaw Donald John Trump winning 2016 United States of America 2016 elections. All through the campaign period most people both in America and all over the world. It was Clinton to the end. A lot of media houses preempted on the same via broadcast, print and online media. In my opinion it was more of an excitement to have a woman president for the very first leading the super power country, USA. But what happened that Trump won, more so that majority of women in the country got to choose Trump instead of Hillary. I mean who wouldn't be amazed by such an action. Didn't women want to have their fellow human leading them and their country? What did Trump do to win their votes? According to the CNN exit polls,53% of women supported the Republican nominee for the 2016 elections ,Donald .J. Trump .Well this was a shocker especially looking at his previous abortion stand during the election period ,sex assault allegations and also fat shaming a former beau...

Study and Politics should be separated.

It really saddens me when politics and school is intertwined.A student having been expelled from campus,in this case Masinde Muliro University is just sad.Getting a stop to your campus routine simply because he supported a certain party is really sad and is not a modern way to deal with these issues. A lot of young people are vying for political seats even while still in school.Instead of been expelled this people should be encouraged on moving forward and having a strong basis for their political aspirations. How our politicians behave out there is portrayed and will continually be portrayed by the younger generation. If the politicians go rioting or protesting in the streets ,with their followers looting and burning tyres on the road the rest of the younger generation will do the same. May the Lord help the young generation to shun what is wrong and take up the right deeds from the experienced fellows.

The past awesome three days was a great time for me.The International Communication Association (I.C.A) took place in Nairobi,Kenya at Daystar University.A-lot of media and communication scholars and students attended from all over the world. There were varied topics discussed on from 19th - 21st October when the conference closed.Among them were Journalism and media, development communication, political communication, research and media ethics, environment climate change ,crisis/Risk communication, social new media, social digital media, health communication, terrorism ,media in Africa cross-disciplinary perspectives, public relations and advertising among other topics. There were also other sessions 'special ones' that were mostly suitable for students and early career scholars. They included 'How does one get published? What do referred journal editors look for? and practical advice for postgraduate students and early -career academics.' They happened during the first and sec...

In reality we are married to our Smartphones

So today I can across a share of a story from dailymail .com of a man who married his smartphone in a church ceremony. That sounds pretty funny but coming to think of it ,many people in the 21st generation are actually married to their cell phones. Our phone's have become our ,they are the ones that wake us up with alarms,we keep our diaries, bible apps in them. When it comes to our businesses we update our stock via them, advertise what we spelling via the social media through our phone's,we even calculate our budget via them. Tell me what's it that our smartphones are incapable of,every little thing has been made accessible via them,we now don't even have to go the bank to withdraw cash, our banks have been made accessible via our phone's now. Our phone's help us a great deal but yet again there are demerits that are derived from its usage.Face to face communication has been reduced out smart phones usage. The more time we take  browsing our phone's th...

Be Hot or Cold

So today as I took my shower I realised my water wasn't warm,i didn't cool it enough.Where I reside water shortage is a problem faced and so the tap wasn't running hence I had to bear with the hot water to the end of my shower. The same way with our beverages,if its chocolate or coffee we either have it hot or cold and most likely most people enjoy it when its hot. God too doesn't like it when his children who are we human beings are lukewarm,we are neither here nor there. He wants or rather his will is for people to be either hot or cold. It's either your are serving Him faithfully or not.According to His word when we accept Jesus Christ His son as our personal saviour we hence become part of his flock. However Satan is always around to devour, steal, kill and destroy.Let's always beware of that.In a youth conference that just concluded in my church today,we were mentioned to by a speaker in the panel of economic empowerment topic that between B and D there is a...

Sad sad scenario of Educationbreakdown at Garissa

You would almost go into tears imaginining what the children of Garissa town go through especially in the education sector. Looking at their classrooms, shortage of quality teachers in their schools both at primary and secondary level from ntv's feature a couple of weeks ago is so disheartening. All children should get quality education in the whole country.Garissa's classrooms almost look like shanty's from their look, from the feature some teachers said that classes are forced to be postponed when it rains as the classrooms rooftops are not strong enough to prevent water from going into the classrooms, not just that even most of the classrooms walls too are incomplete or not totally covered like they should be. I hope the leaders of this country get to watch this features and plan towards changing the situation. As individuals too we should try and find ways to end such menaces and do something to make education more decent all over Kenya. Personally I will attending the...

Unemployment....aaargh!

Now that Bang Kimoon,United Nation's secretary general visited Tunisia over the unemployment saga,is UN ever going to respond to the many applications we make to them starting with internships then to their job opportunities.I have always believed that I will get a job by applying, being shortlisted for an interview then getting the position.Problem is even getting the opportunity for an interview takes forever.I don't have a godfather as many Kenyans have and i don't think I will ever have one because I got to much trust n hope in God my father. It has happened for people I know and i know it will happen for me too.I mean with God,I will land a good paying job some day.Now I am just taking my time to upgrade myself with a masters, while many people who ain't qualified as I am and maybe with no experience as I,bag the cash from their salaries month In month out.Jehova you better do it for me and many others who are waiting upon you Lord. It shouldn't be all about exp...

Egyptian plane hijacked

It was  a sad scenario getting to hear of the Egyptian plane that was hijacked. This happening in an African country, all hostages assumed to be released and then the hijacker is said to be arrested finally was a shocker for me.Why??The last seven people that had been held hostage were freed with the  first four been released and then the last three, then it was said that the hijacker was among the last seven hostages. If that was so the Egyptian authorities should have had police waiting to enter into the plane immediately the last hostages were released so they could make sure that the plane was left empty with no more  hostages nor arms or explosives. It wasn't even clear how they got to know who among the last hostages was the hijacker. My plea is Africa is not thorough on its security. It is upto the authorities in the continent to make sure that they have the facilities to detect arms or explosives because they are always terror attacks revolving around Africa in diff...

Wow its been long

Long long time since I wrote,I went back to school to further my studies at postgraduate level in January so when classes begin,I don't know why I forgot all about my blog. Now am back and come what may I will be finding time to write.Masters ain't a joke.Alot of work there, assignment, research, term papers, reading ahead of class so you don't feel  odd when people are participating in class, its just alot. But I thank God it has been well and it is possible to do that which you thought is hard or possible. As the scripture says in Phillipians 4:13-"All things are possible through  Christ who strengthens me." When I was choosing the units I would tackle this semester,I had the freight of one"Statistics for Communication Research"with the mention of Statistics i knew it would involve mathematics which i detested In my high school days.I had the attitude of I know I can't pass in mathematics then and consequently I didn't do well in it like i did in la...

Happy New Year

On New year's  eve I got to watch the movie 'War Room' .That movie is just a must watch especially as we start up a new year.Challenging, inspiring that's what it is. In life we always have battles we fight, something bothering, disturbing you. Most of the time we argue about the problem as a way to try and solve it.The movie encourages one to take they battles to the Lord. How you may ask??By talking to him every time you have the chance to.Tell Him your battles, what your facing, then tell Him your wishes.Let Him take charge of your life, job, marriage, children, future, aspirations, ambitions, plans basically your everything. I choose to follow the lessons I got from the movie to lead me on in this new year 2016.Would you join me.Jesus has the final say.Step into 2016 with a crazy faith that what you thought you'll never have will come across you only if You believe. #Beblessed Shalom.
